About the event
The Djangophiles truly capture the Parisian sound that was innovated by Django Reinhardt during the Swing Era. Their music is strongly influenced by the great Belgian/French Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, who together with Stéphane Grappelli formed the famous “Quintette du Hot Club de France” in 1934, one of the first all-string Jazz bands. Based on their collaborations and the Gypsy guitar stylings of Django, a whole new style of Jazz was developed….called Le Jazz Hot.
This music has an infectious driving rhythm and incorporates most of the standard pop and jazz tunes of the 20′s, 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s …. As well as many modern day compositions.
The Djangophiles, in keeping with the tradition of the music use acoustic instruments, and sound reinforcement only when necessary. The result is a comfortable listening level that is never too loud or intrusive. We can't wait for their first appearance at Le Coupe. Viva La "Le Jazz Hot"!
